(Ch.Windsheen Make Mine a Double). I was pleased with the performance ability and conformation qualities of these two litters.
Ch. Dashing Nieohn Cabernet Red was bred twice as well. Her first breeding was to Ch. Windsheen Dashing Dare to Beee. This line-breeding produced Hound Group Winner Ch. Dashing Bette Your Bottom Dollar, Ch. Dashing Dare to Bette the Bank DPCX and Ch. Dashing a Penny Bette FCH. Again, these dogs were successful in the show ring, on the coursing field and racing track. For her second litter we bred her to Ch. Fanfare’s Gentleman Jack producing SBIS Ch. Dashing the Gentleman Aviator (Top Twenty 2007 and 2008), Ch. Dashing Shady Lady and Ch. Dashing Gentleman Caller.
Four years ago we took SBIS Ch. Windsheen Dashing Shelbee and did an outcross to
Ch. Fantasy’s Divine Decadence. This breeding produced our first Champion/CWA Racemeet winner, Ch. Windsheen Dashing Divine Ms. D LCM, as well as other successful littermates, Ch. Windsheen Dashing El Divino, Ch. Windsheen Dashing Lucid Dream and Windsheen Dashing Felina Divine.
Over the 27 years I have bred or co-bred 11 litters and close to 20 Champions.
My last litter was 4 years ago so I think I am ready for some puppies.
3. What venues are you involved in?
David – We actively participate in showing, racing, and coursing. The percentage of time we spend at each of these events depends on the dogs we have at the time. Right now we are doing a lot of showing.
Gina – I think racing is my favorite whippet activity. Showing and coursing can be fun too. I would like to start Hughes in obedience. If you know Hughes you probably think this is a good idea. He is a little spoiled.
4. Why did you decide to get your judging license and how long have you been judging?
David – Starting to judge just seemed like a natural progression in the sport for me. I am proud of my breeding program but I knew that I would never breed more than one litter every couple of years. Judging was another way for me to have an impact on the future of our breed and the sport. I always thought that I would judge later in life but I was encouraged by Allen Odom to start the process now. In 2003 I started the application process. Currently, I am licensed or provisional to judge Whippets, Afghans, Dachshunds, and Norwegian Elkhounds. My goal is to judge the whole hound group.
